Thai Lime-Garlic Steamed Fish

Ingredients:

  • 4 white fish fillets (e.g., cod or snapper)
  • 2 limes (juice and zest)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 red chili, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish:
    • Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Make the Marinade:
    • In a small bowl, combine lime juice, lime zest, minced garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and grated ginger. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Marinate the Fish:
    • Place the fish fillets in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over them, ensuring even coating. Let the fish marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Steam the Fish:
    • Transfer the marinated fish to a steaming dish, including the marinade. Sprinkle the sliced chili and half of the chopped cilantro on top.
    • Steam the fish in a preheated steamer for 10-12 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with the remaining cilantro before serving. Pair it with steamed rice or a light salad for a complete meal.

Enjoy the zesty, aromatic flavors of this Thai-inspired dish!
